TRUSTED_CA_CERTS_PATH to trust internal certificate authorities without disabling TLS certificate verification. Mage reads the certificates when its process starts, merges them with the default CA bundle, and configures common Python and command-line HTTPS clients to use the merged bundle.
Prepare the certificate directory
TRUSTED_CA_CERTS_PATH must point to a directory containing the trusted root and any required intermediate CA certificates.
Certificate files must:
- Use a
.crt,.pem, or.cerfilename, or have no extension. - Be PEM encoded and contain one or more
-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----blocks. DER-encoded.cerfiles are not supported.
Configure Docker
Mount the certificate directory in the Mage container and setTRUSTED_CA_CERTS_PATH to the container path. For Docker Compose, merge the following settings into the Mage service:
Configure Kubernetes with Helm
Create a Kubernetes Secret containing the CA certificate files, then add the volume, mount, and environment variable to the Mage Helmvalues.yaml:
Kubernetes workspaces
For Mage Pro workspaces, also configure the workspace manager to inherit the CA volume into workspace pods:WORKSPACE_INHERIT_VOLUMES is a comma-separated list of Kubernetes volume names to copy, with their matching mounts, from the workspace manager into workspace pod specifications. Use the volume name (internal-ca in this example), not the Kubernetes Secret name.
After upgrading the Helm release, restart the workspace manager and update or recreate affected workspaces so Mage regenerates their pod specifications. Restarting an existing workspace pod alone does not add a missing volume.
Confirm the trust bundle loaded
When Mage starts successfully in Docker or Kubernetes, its logs include:REQUESTS_CA_BUNDLE, SSL_CERT_FILE, and CURL_CA_BUNDLE inside its process to the generated merged bundle. A shell opened separately in the same container does not necessarily inherit those values, so validate the connection through the Mage runtime that executes the pipeline.
Verify certificate trust
Test a read-only internal HTTPS endpoint from a Mage block:verify=False or explicitly set verify=certifi.where(), because either option disables or bypasses the merged Mage trust bundle.
If verification still fails, confirm that the certificate directory is mounted in the runtime executing the request, the Mage startup log reports the expected certificates, and the server presents its required intermediate certificate chain.
